Egon Schiele has always been an amazing source of inspiration for me. His paintings represent a very personal and revolutionary vision of the world, especially for the time they were created. Yest I still find his work incredibly modern. I particularly love the atmosphere he created in his portraits: glorious and distorted, a sublime and twisted celebration of sensuality.

Polka dots, the trademark of “Kusama Happening”. Red, green and yellow polka dots can be the circles representing the earth, the sun, or the moon. Their shapes and what they signify do not really matter. I paint polka dots on the bodies of people, and with those polka dots, the people will self-obliterate and return to the nature of the universe. Here is something until i can fix my temperamental camera back. My dear friends gave me a magnificent idea for my next post. Patience is a virtue.. or so i am learning.




It seems there's no end to Stella McCartney's creativity. An animal lover, Stella has often used the silhouette of a horse in her textiles and fashion design. Now she's reprised LuckySpot, a gorgeous crystal "chandelier" installation at Belsay Castle in the UK.

Evidently she is an animal lover, activist and vegan too!

Artist in Focus: YINKA SHONIBARE

Shonibare refers to himself as a ‘postcolonial hybrid’, having been born in England and raised in Nigeria before relocating to London when he was 17.

At the age of 19 he decided to become an artist, against the wishes of his father. He regards himself as 'bicultural'. He has stirred controversy because of his apparent Dutch influences, Indonesian wax-resistant use of fabrics and accompanying post-colonial, centre-versus-margins discussion which according to the masses is an injustice to his ideas and it's justification.

Regardless, his lavish costumes, his art and his videos personifies movement and aristocracy making his work spell binding.



I aspire to be of some use in the near future. I want to encapsulate his confidence, his determination and his optimism.



I came across Annie's Blog and her post on Sølve Sundsbø reminded me of Shonibre's work.
