Inspiration is easily found when you leave your fears unnoticed. Maybe you need a pat on the back for the excellent work you did, for being a friend, for getting to work on time, for living life the way it's supposed to be.

I am starting to learn things I have always taken for granted. Walking for example. I never really paid any attention to the nature that kept me company every single day, or the traffic I passed through during peak hour which always tested my safety, or even the fresh morning sun, my first dose of Vitamin D.

So this is what they mean by euphoria...
I have so much to show you, so much to share. I hope you have patience. I hope you are there.

I'm so very sorry to leave you astray and venture onto new things. I hope you have stumbled across new blogs, fantastic images and beautiful people.

I know I have! University is keeping me busy. I commenced my Masters in Education this year. It has been a whirlwind of assignments, mental breakdowns and sleepless nights.

Through all of that I managed to secure a placement at a local school and *drum roll*

work for G Star RAW

I honestly don't own anything related to the brand as of yet but I believe they are a conceptual denim industry that prides itself in providing excellence with a minimalist, sheike and revolutionary attitude. What's even better is that the brand influences a range of generations and using a Brand Ambassador like Liv Tyler epitomises beauty and "cool" for me. It adds an element of intelligence in choosing your pieces of clothing. Everything has a purposes. Everything you choose will mould to your body. It promises you will never feel boring.

Now that's a promise at an expensive price worth exploring...

2009 : Trip to India

I had an amazing end to 2009 and a great beginning to 2010. I can't upload all the photos but here's some of my favourites. How have you been? How were you're holidays? Are you back to the grind of life or are you loving every minute? Are you on your second revised resolution? I know I am =)

The word "Undergraduate" is such a subordinate term. It almost makes me think all this studying is not good enough. Under-appreciated. It also makes me feel overwhelmed. I am old now, yikes! I completed high school three years ago and here I am preparing myself for my last exam. Soon after that I am on a well deserved 3 month break. Don't you love tertiary education? *clears throat*

I was tagged to share 5 aspects about me a while back so here goes.

1)I moved to Australia 7 years ago and I honestly can't wait to visit home and reconnect with friends and family. Facebook isn't good enough. I need body warmth and eye contact.The past 7 years have been a magnificent experience. My formidable years however, were in India and will always be. I'll be spending a good 2 months there. Let's see how I cope with Internet Cafe's and seedy men raping me with their eyes.

2) I think the most beautiful person is my mother. I know she doesn't read this so I can mention it. She reminds me of an exotic snow white. Filipino with the fairest skin and ebony hair. I met her last year and she has aged gracefully.

3) I'm still scared of the dark. Thanks to Indian folklore and superstition I have a colourful imagination.

4) "I stay up at night on my computer looking for answers" haha THIS IS SO ME! I wouldn't say I suffer from a bad case of insomnia... I'm just curious. Society, Music, Film, Ethics ya di ya di ya da. I like to know stuff, stuff that I will never use in my life. (mostly)

5) I over analyse everything. Conversations, body language, facbook status's, my music, the movies i watch, my blog. I bet by the time I publish this you won't read half the stuff I originally came up with. One- because i am my worst critic and Two- I think I am pretty funny when really I'm not.

I have been living in Sydney for almost 8 years now. Previously, I always thought most western cultures would indulge in Halloween. Why wouldn't they? It's a pretty sweet deal, if you ask me. So having said that I prudently went trick or treating. I learnt its not an Australian thing to do. My poor siblings received apples, muesli bars, a few cents, some words of wisdom but no candy. We hailed that year as a "trick". Haha a nasty trick on our imagination, our childhood and creativity. Since then the four of us vowed to never ever attempt Halloween in our hood.

Fast forward to our present. Thanks to Heidi Klum and our desperate culture to bend over backwards to fit in Halloween is catching on. Hells yes. Do you guys have any plans? What have you decided to dress up as?

This is the first time I have ever seen Sports Girl marketing attempting to appeal to a intellectual/cultural side of women. Usually it’s just vapid looking girls with fluroescent lipstick and absurdly long hair and absurdly big lips striking marching-pony poses in meticulously arranged clothes, with a stupid catch phrase arching above this all. I guess it is attempting to appeal the faux-tragic/poetic, cute-librarian fad of the moment, which is seeing a lot of 15 year-olds in docs and panda-eyes clutching Penguin Classics while they twirl their vintage frocks and misinterpret Catcher In The Rye. While Sports Girl is only cashing in on this trend, it does call my attention to the fact that it’s just a bit depressing that marketing women in a cerebral/cultural rather than sexually aesthetic way can stick out like a sore thumb.

I commend overdose babyblue for stating this. This is true. You know you are nodding away agreeing to every sentence. It's pretty pathetic our "individual" style and creativity is cashed onto mainstream propaganda. What for? The whole "I am woman hear me roar" bullshit really needs to stop.

You know deep down some girls go to Borders to update their magazine subscriptions they would rather not pay for. They may flaunt a fancy library that sports every Russian surname, classic English title but please don't refuse to dabble in some vampire action if that's what you are really in to.

Pick what you shall we all strive to be politically correct. I work my brain off and my verbal intelligence every Tuesday during my Ethics class. To tell you the truth I have no idea how I can truly justify my actions. I am surrounded by contradictions and I guess I am a hypocrite.

Not every question has an answer and that is ETHICS in a nutshell. It's frustrating not knowing if you are right or wrong. I'd like to think I am conscious of what's around me, the issues we face everyday but there is little importance if you are detached from reality.

I feel my blog and reading other blogs is an attempt for escapism. Its a reality we would all like to percieve as an oppourtunity to get to know others, share opinion and even secretly hope to get famous. Haha Come on!

All I'm saying is people take charge of what is happening now. Be true to yourself, you will form the answers may it be right or wrong, You my dear friends will have one skill the rest won't possess and that is the answer you believe in.

Making up for Lost Times

Gentle Storm.

It feel's good to get into the swing of things. I'm back at Uni, out of work... Plenty of assignments which means lack of social interaction which means I have some sort of restraining order until my break.

Last weekend we celebrated beautiful, Mel's birthday. We traveled to a Spanish Cabaret restaurant. It was an exhilarating experience. I absolutely love dancing, its in my blood and the food was drool worthy!

We even had the opportunity to have a salsa lesson. Mel and Brother dearest won 1st place.

I wish I could take better pictures to show you the ethereal layers that made up this dress. I cant believe this dress is so old! Perfect Find

I feel like I am experiencing abrupt and constant change in my life and that has definitely molded my views and beliefs. I am comfortable in my own skin and never have I been this comfortable experimenting. We bloggers should know this. It is like an unspoken , mutual connection. We stand out. We do. People either blatantly gawk their eyes out at you or sheepishly comment your interpretation.

Amongst our community we will always have the haters that love their stereotype. And you will see this. They have their posses and they all look alike even if they are fashion forward. Whatever, I absolutely despise arrogance.

Jumping between jobs and let downs these past few weeks, it is safe to say "I'm on the right track". Currently working in the fashion industry and boy oh boy is it interesting!
Interesting as I described it as is somewhat a polite understatement. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy every second of it. The buzz of potential buyers, fabrics and accessories that will be used in the coming year. It's all part of this exciting process.

I absolutely love being inspired, extending my creativity and having fun. Unfortunately, it is not all fun and frolic. You need to fit a distinctive criteria which can be stereotyped, cynical and unoriginal in the sense - you should look like those around you.

Where is the individuality? The open arms waiting for some crazy interpretation. I just wished women took a stand and stopped subscribing to wasting themselves in this cut throat melodrama.

I recently gained placement at a local Primary school for the duration of my break, where I teach and carry on the whole shindig. It's crazy! My students are the smartest bunch ever. You will be so surprised what a 9 year old's take is on global politics, the recession and sexism in Australia.

Hello fellow bloggers,

I apologise for my tardiness. My inefficiency should be blamed on my ability to leave things to the last minute. I’m still at University and this semester is almost done with the added grace of 2 excruciating exams first week of June. So again bear with me for a little while longer. According to my family school should and always be my first priority haha! Yes Pa’

Well anyways that being said I won't limit you from what I have been up to lately.

Last night we travelled to 'The Rocks" in Sydney and dined at a popular and appropriately named restaurant called, 'Pancakes at the Rocks'. Foolish of us to order meals... the pancakes in itself could feed a family of four.

The camera has been in good hands... except mine. Thing is I am so scared I will scratch it, break it or drop it- I am too afraid to use it. Now that I finally have this amazing camera I really don't know what to do with it. How can I take a better photo? Should it go through photoshop before hitting my blog.

Goodmorning 20, will you treat me well this year?

Today I pretty much wasted the day and just laid back... took photos , did some quality reading and research nothing productive. Danced my way through lunch whilst cooking 2 minute noodles. Don't you love having the whole house to you and it's dead silent. It was fun.

Responsibility is looming.

I am just a day away from turning 20 and I don't think I have achieved anything significant so far.

What's the big deal anyways? It's a number and I am far from claiming my adolescent years were in essence when "the good times rolled". I don't want to grow up but I learnt that is inevitable haha.

The reason why I haven't blogged in more than a week, I broke my dear old camera, Canon. But as I am known to "live and let live" I will buy a meaner, sexier, well equipped SLR haha and in addition my internet has exceeded it's limit. But don't worry in a few days my internet will be up and running. I will get back to all of you as soon as possible.

Ooh Sigmund Freud maybe the Roitfield family or give me some Lagerfield quality time.

What’s your favorite type of music?
I enjoy alternative/indie music, it inspires me and just makes sense whilst the genre sticks it to the man! I love to dance and loose myself to RnB, Jazz and Electro Pop. Its no good confining yourself to one genre, you will miss out!

What’s the favorite piece of clothing in your own closet?
My silk scarf and leather jacket.

What is your dream job?

I would love to be an artist, photographer maybe an entrepreneur of some sort.
Anything that encourages creativity and an appreciation for different views and beliefs. This in itself is a challenge. Oh this is far fetched.

It is getting especially cold. I am definitely not used to Winter considering I spent most of my life living with my dad in India. The chilly winter months are disastrous. I am over exaggerating. Regardless my humble body can only take so much.

Yayoi Kusuma inspired our attempt at using an onverload of polka dots in my last post which went wrong btw. You should really check out her website. Her artwork is amazing!!

Polka dots, the trademark of “Kusama Happening”. Red, green and yellow polka dots can be the circles representing the earth, the sun, or the moon. Their shapes and what they signify do not really matter. Here is something until i can fix my temperamental camera back. My dear friends gave me a magnificent idea for my next post. Patience is a virtue.. or so i am learning.

It seems there's no end to Stella McCartney's creativity. An animal lover, Stella has often used the silhouette of a horse in her textiles and fashion design. Now she's reprised LuckySpot, a gorgeous crystal "chandelier" installation at Belsay Castle in the UK.

Evidently she is an animal lover, activist and vegan too!

Artist in Focus: YINKA SHONIBARE

Shonibare refers to himself as a ‘postcolonial hybrid’, having been born in England and raised in Nigeria before relocating to London when he was 17.

At the age of 19 he decided to become an artist, against the wishes of his father. He regards himself as 'bicultural'. He has stirred controversy because of his apparent Dutch influences, Indonesian wax-resistant use of fabrics and accompanying post-colonial, centre-versus-margins discussion which according to the masses is an injustice to his ideas and it's justification.

Regardless, his lavish costumes, his art and his videos personifies movement and aristocracy making his work spell binding.

I aspire to be of some use in the near future. I want to encapsulate his confidence, his determination and his optimism.

I came across Annie's Blog and her post on Sølve Sundsbø reminded me of Shonibre's work.
